The mission of the center is the pursuit of excellence in research and education in aerospace and related fields through innovation, technology development and technology transfer, in partnerships with universities, industry and government agencies to enhance the competitiveness of aerospace and related industry in the United States.

 

AeREC is a multi-university consortium which will allow:

• The participating faculty to form teams in their areas of expertise and respond to the research needs of the government agencies and the industry in aerospace related technologies;
  
• The industry to partner with the universities to respond to federal research initiatives and in developing technologies that they cannot fund or develop as individual companies.

Furthermore, it will create linkages among universities, state and federal government agencies and the industry to provide for smooth and speedy progression through all technology development phases from basic and applied research to product development and product realization.
